Description

Most people associate “Mah Nà Mah Nà” with the Muppets or Benny Hill, but it was actually written by an Italian composer named Piero Umiliani in 1968 for a film entitled “Svezia, inferno e paradiso” (Sweden: Heaven and Hell).

In my mind it will always be a Muppets song, but the Muppets version didn’t debut on Sesame Street or The Muppets Show.  It was broadcast as early as 1969 (November 30th) on the Ed Sullivan Show.  The rest is history.  Mah Nà Mah Nà!
